Artist's Statement
The fractal patterns found in nature have played a major role in the development of my work. I have begun to partially understand the ideas of fractal geometry as they connect to the chaotic patterns of the natural world. Looking at certain microscopic objects reveals infinite repeating patterns as they are magnified - according to fractal geometry these are existing "between dimensions." Lewis Wolberg, a psychiatrist fascinated by the aesthetics of science, nature, and art, wondered why the representations of artists so often resemble microscopic structures. He discovered, in part, that artists respond to "the same interacting processes that operate in all of creation."
